<![endif]-->The history of rock music isn’t cut and dry. Many individuals debate who the first rock singer was and what the first rock song was. However, it is known that the history of rock music comes from the old R&B mixed with some country and western and fused with a little rockabilly.

The exact time period that the history or rock music started in is not known. There were rock and roll elements showing up in blues songs and old country western songs as far back as the 20’s and 30’s. By the 1950’s the history or rock music had begun.

The phrase rock and roll used to have a sexual connotation attached to it. The phrase sometimes contained to two meanings. It appeared to mean dancing but was also associated with sex. It was first used in the title of Trixi Smith’s 1920’s song, “My baby rocks me with one steady roll.” However, it was Alan Freed a disc jockey from Ohio that first came up with the phrase rock and roll in 1955. With that, the history of rock music was well under way.

As stated before, just who started the history of rock music is under debate. This is because rock and roll music evolved from different genres and some songs that belonged to the blues, jazz, country, and gospel genres offered elements that could be considered rock and roll. However, it was Bill Haley’s song, “Rock around the clock” that became popular enough to top the Billboard music charts.

In the history or rock music there have been many icons. Among the earliest rock stars are names like Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard. These early stars of the history or rock music led to the popularization or rock and a culture change that shocked the world. The dance crazes, fashion styles, and pop culture that followed the early history of rock music were made possible by these early stars.

There seems to be at least one good 80’s song on almost every soundtrack. Some songs show up on multiple movie soundtracks. This is one of the best ways [...]

This is why 80’s rock music ends up in a lot of good movies. There seems to be at least one good 80’s song on almost every soundtrack. Some songs show up on multiple movie soundtracks. This is one of the best ways to accumulate great 80’s rock music without buying a bunch of individual albums.

One of the best movie soundtracks for 80’s rock music is The Wedding Singer. This film has songs from Billy Idol to The Culture Club. The movie isn’t have bad either. Starring Drew Berrymore and Adam Sandler, this movie couldn’t be funnier if you threw in Cheech and Chong.

Another great movie for 80’s rock music is The Breakfast Club. This movie was created in the 80’s and is still as enjoyable today as it was back then. The theme from this movie is perhaps the most famous song on its soundtrack. The theme song that was written by Keith Forsay and Steve Schiff was performed by the band “Simple Minds “Don’t You Forget About Me” became an instant 80’s rock music hit.

Another great movie was released in 1997 with a great 80’s rock music soundtrack. Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion starred a famous cast including Lisa Kudrow, Mira Sorvino, Janeane Garofalo, Camryn Manheim, and Alan Cumming. This movie was hilarious and included a host of 80’s rock music including “Foot Loose”, “Time After Time”, and Turning Japanese”.

Movie soundtracks are a great way to purchase a CD with a variety of music. Instead of all of the songs sounding the same, you get a bunch of great songs. The ones listed above are great for fans of 80’s rock music. They have the classic 80’s music that you are looking for and the movies are great too.

Finally, the American rock band- The Doors, enjoyed the peak of their career from 1965 to 1973. “Hello, I Love You”, “Love Her Madly”, and “Light My Fire” are a few of their famous singles, from their over 32 million albums sold in the US alone.

Songs and singers come and go, but music and artists from the 80’s are here and will continuously make noise in the airwaves for present and future generations. Let’s go back and reminisce the best of the best of the 80’s music.

Let’s start the ball rolling by mentioning “The Material Girl” herself, Madonna. The Madonna look made a big contribution to the 80’s music. From the hair to the outfit, she made music aficionados sing to “Like A Virgin”, “Papa Don’t Preach” “La Isla Bonita” “Crazy for You” and “”Like a Prayer” to name a few. Up to now, Madonna still dominates the music and entertainment industry as she continues to reinvent herself.

Another 80’s symbol is Michael Jackson. Who haven’t heard of “Thriller”? or watched its music video? Other Michael Jackson unforgettables are “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, “Smooth Criminal”, and “Man in the Mirror”. As we all know, he is also the brother of another famous singer/celebrity, Janet Jackson.

When we talk about band from the 80’s, all 80’s top lists won’t be complete without mentioning these two legendary bands – U2 and The Police.

Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen, Jr. marked their own territory in the music and entertainment industry with their unforgettable hits such as “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, “Where the Streets Have No Name”, and “With or Without You”. At present, U2’s main man, Bono, is actively participating in different events and organizations as activist and philanthropist.

Last, but definitely not the least is the group called “The Police”. They are the geniuses behind unforgettable singles such as “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”, “Every Breath You Take” “Roxanne” and “Message in a Bottle”. Sting, the band’s lead vocalist also made it big in the industry as solo artist and made a name out of his beautiful and timeless music as well.

Certainly, the 80’s epoch will remain and continue to influence the current and upcoming musicians, struggling to make it big in the music scene.

With mobile download portals here and there, you might be wondering which is the most reliable and where can you get the safest and scam-free ringtones and wallpapers. Here are some criteria you may want to consider.

In choosing a content provider, make sure it offers customers an easy to navigate online portal interface. A user- friendly mobile content site, with all the mobile download categories properly displayed, makes a mobile subscribers’ download experience hassle- free. Having all information and instructions on how to download, and which mobile devices are compatible with their mobile download offerings will make your ringtone and wallpaper hunting easier. Existence of a Customer Service Support is also a good indication that your content provider is willing to give assistance to its patrons.

Another factor to consider is the type of mobile download plan being offered by the content provider. A good download site gives mobile subscribers options if they want a subscription or one- off ringtones and wallpapers purchase.

It is also important to think about the mobile download offerings of the content provider. The more ringtones and wallpaper choices, the better. However, despite having a rich library of mobile content, it is also important to consider the sound and graphical quality of the content provider.

And the most important, your preferred mobile download provider should abide by the rules and best practices set by respectable groups and organizations to avoid scams and other illegal offerings.

You think we missed out something? Feel free to add it up!

Living in a “Mobile Era”, you read news about new mobile downloads from artists, famous personalities as well as tv programs and movies in papers and over the net everyday. Content providers go gaga, battling each other out to get exclusive mobile content distribution over a particular label’s latest release for mobile ringtones and mobile wallpapers.

The idea of artists and music labels working with content providers benefits both the music and entertainment industry, and the mobile entertainment business. Artists and labels use mobile downloads as additional gateways where they can promote their music as well as to directly interact with fans and followers. Not to mention the revenue share they get from having their artistic pieces available on content providers’ online portals. On the other hand, content providers gain from this partnership since they get new materials to add to their rich library of mobile downloads selection.

Mobile content continues to evolve from being simple ringtones and wallpapers in a mobile users’ phone to something helpful and beneficial. Currently, mobile downloads are being utilize as campaign materials, as well as alternative avenues for non-profit organizations to gather more supporters and donations.

With the current mobile content industry’s direction, wonder where mobile contents will be a year or two years from now?

Tons of interesting news about the mobile entertainment industry has been circulating the market for the past months. Most of these informational and catchy updates are about the mobile downloads business.

The mobile downloads has become part of the 2008 US Election Campaign strategies for both Obama and McCain. And now, McCain’s chosen VP candidate announces her Sarah Palin ringtones, aiming to reach out to more voters.

On the lighter note, Indian activists try to encourage citizens to engage in safe sex, and be comfortable when dealing with this delicate issue. And there solution was to come up with the “Condom, condom!” ringtones, where the word condom is being mentioned fifty times.

Japan also came up with its own controversial mobile download, by creating the world’s longest ringtone. The said ringtone which lasts for 61 minutes and 40 seconds aims to be part of the Guinness World Records.

The coming out of unique and original mobile downloads is quite expected. In the US alone, half of its mobile users view cell phones as entertainment gadgets, where mobile subscribers use handy phones not just to call and text, but to keep them company during down times. And it seems like mobile content providers from all over the world are taking advantage of this great opportunity.

Mobile phones are usually referred to as device used for sending and receiving text messages and phone calls. However, because of technical advancements and tons of money spent on research and development, handy phones have evolved from a simple communication tool into an entertainment gadget.

The young mobile phone subscribers- the teens and tweens alike, are seeing and using cell phone as a leisure tool, which they use to listen to their favorite bands, where they save tons of mobile wallpapers of artists, download and play mobile games, as well as visit and update profiles from their favorite social network sites. With tons of mobile content downloads and subscriptions from different content providers, it’s quite evident that this segment of the market is spending most of their time entertaining themselves using handy phones.

These cell phone users’ involvement and addiction of mobile phones might be the reason behind different studies being conducted by experts regarding possible hazardous effects of too much usage of mobile phones.

We should all hope that there are (will be) no harmful effects caused by cell phone addiction. Because if there is, can you imagine what’s in store in the future of today’s young mobile users, let’s say thirty years from now? Scary…

Gone are the days when mobile downloads such as ringtones and wallpapers are simply mobile content in a teen’s handy phone. Recently, businesses, non-profit organizations and the entertainment industry are using mobile content as gateway to facilitate any of their marketing and promotion campaigns.

Businesses and non-profit groups are using mobile downloads to initiate and maintain brand loyalty among its market, especially for those whose target are the young ones. These organizations are recognizing the big influence of mobile phones among its audience, the reason why they have to get their mobile presence present in cellphones.

Not only the income and non-income generating institutions are adopting mobile content marketing. The entertainment media is also integrating it in most of their campaigns. More and more singers and artists are making their songs and album covers available to their fans in the form mobile ringtones and wallpapers. As for the television and movie industry, they also have integrated mobile downloads in their mix. To some extent, movies are using mobile marketing to create more noise before the actual screening date. Same with Hollywood personalities, whose aim are to make themselves accessible to fans and followers.

And why these sectors are doing it? It’s because they acknowledge mobile phone as a personal gadget, and all its contents are according to the owner’s preference and taste. So if a handy phone owner is a big Alicia Keys fan, expect that he or she has an Alicia Keys ringtone or wallpaper. Agree?

You think our witty mobile phone wonder makers are resting? Think again. Here are some of the shocking, brilliant, and interesting handy phone models and the latest news on the mobile phone industry.

To begin with, let us talk about the latest mobile accessory. It’s a blood bag mobile strap from Japan. The said bloody strap comes with an IV bag, which shows the cellphone owner’s blood type. Don’t be scared yet, because the blood in the bag isn’t for real. This story behind this medically inspired ornament is that Japanese believe that a person’s blood type speaks of his/ her personality. Wonder what ringtone goes with the phone.

From the out of the ordinary accessory to one amazing gadget, here comes a mobile phone unit that unlocks/locks and starts/stops car engine for Nissan Motor cars. This very useful gadget comes from the collaboration of Sharp and DoCoMo. Truly a very useful handy phone for forgetful mobile and car owners, who always fail to remember bringing their car keys and/or cellphone.

As for the mobile industry news, China’s largest telecoms equipment company recently announced that it just reached its 100 millionth mark of handsets distributed globally, since 2002. Wow, a hundred million! Wonder how many mobile downloads these mobile phones will need.
