80’s Music (Still) Rocks!
Songs and singers come and go, but music and artists from the 80’s are here and will continuously make noise in the airwaves for present and future generations. Let’s go back and reminisce the best of the best of the 80’s music.
Let’s start the ball rolling by mentioning “The Material Girl” herself, Madonna. The Madonna look made a big contribution to the 80’s music. From the hair to the outfit, she made music aficionados sing to “Like A Virgin”, “Papa Don’t Preach” “La Isla Bonita” “Crazy for You” and “”Like a Prayer” to name a few. Up to now, Madonna still dominates the music and entertainment industry as she continues to reinvent herself.
Another 80’s symbol is Michael Jackson. Who haven’t heard of “Thriller”? or watched its music video? Other Michael Jackson unforgettables are “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, “Smooth Criminal”, and “Man in the Mirror”. As we all know, he is also the brother of another famous singer/celebrity, Janet Jackson.
When we talk about band from the 80’s, all 80’s top lists won’t be complete without mentioning these two legendary bands – U2 and The Police.
Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen, Jr. marked their own territory in the music and entertainment industry with their unforgettable hits such as “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, “Where the Streets Have No Name”, and “With or Without You”. At present, U2’s main man, Bono, is actively participating in different events and organizations as activist and philanthropist.
Last, but definitely not the least is the group called “The Police”. They are the geniuses behind unforgettable singles such as “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”, “Every Breath You Take” “Roxanne” and “Message in a Bottle”. Sting, the band’s lead vocalist also made it big in the industry as solo artist and made a name out of his beautiful and timeless music as well.
Certainly, the 80’s epoch will remain and continue to influence the current and upcoming musicians, struggling to make it big in the music scene.
