AN EXCITING 2008 GRAMMY AWARDS FOR RNB ARTISTS LIKE AKON

The most awaited Grammy Awards night is fast approaching as it announced the official list of nominees for the 2008 ceremonies. This year’s celebration is expected to be more colorful with lots of first time nominees like Amy Winehouse and old time favorites like U2 and Alicia Keys.

RnB artists dominated the list of Grammy nominees for this year. Kanye West topped the list with 8 nominations, followed by Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and T-Pain with 5 nominations, and Akon, Ne-Yo and Rihanna with 4 nominations each. Among the nominees, Akon was the one who really made a name out of himself last 2007. His collaborations with great artists like Gwen Stefani and Snoop Dogg, and T-Pain made it clear that he is one of the most sought after artist for his generation.

Akon started his career with his “Locked Up” album which was released last 2004 with hit singles like Locked Up. It was followed by his “Trouble” album with popular songs like “Lonely”, “Pot of Gold”, and “Belly Dancer”. His biggest hit was “Don’t Matter” from his “Konvicted” album, which made him popular all over the world.
